Rain Brings Relief to Colorado Basin Amid Drought
Recent rainfall has brought some relief to drought-stricken areas of the Colorado River Basin, but severe drought conditions persist in Colorado and Wyoming. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, monsoon storms improved conditions in eastern Arizona and central New Mexico, while parts of Kansas, Missouri, and the Upper Midwest received significant rainfall ranging from 3 to 8 inches. However, much of central Colorado remains in exceptional drought, the most severe category on the drought scale. Southern California and southern Nevada saw conditions worsen due to continued dry weather.
