The proclamation was made at Fields Fields Blueberries in Dresden, with key figures such as Agriculture Commissioner Amanda Beal and Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine's Eric Venturini present. The weekend aims to honor the contributions of farmers and agriculture workers to Maine's economy, with a special focus on the role of women in farming. The event will feature activities like farm tours, blueberry picking, and the sale of blueberry products. Maine is a leading producer of wild blueberries in the U.S., harvesting 55 million pounds last year.
