Historic Lehigh Valley Caboose to Enhance Manchester Railroad Memorial Park
A historic 1940s-era Lehigh Valley Railroad caboose, known as Lehigh Valley 95019, is set to be installed at the Manchester Railroad Memorial Park in New York. The caboose, which was acquired from the Newark Valley Depot Museum, will be transported and placed on display tracks at the park on April 28. This acquisition was made possible through a successful community fundraising effort, with the caboose costing approximately $20,000. The Manchester Model Railroad Association, which operates a model railroad at the park, facilitated the purchase. The caboose will join other historical rail cars on display, including two Lehigh Valley boxcars and a former Conrail caboose.
