Maryland Reaches Settlement with Dali Ship Owners Over Bridge Collapse
The State of Maryland has reached a settlement in principle with the owners and operators of the containership Dali, following the 2024 destruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The settlement resolves a significant portion of Maryland's claims against Grace Ocean and Synergy Marine, although details are still being finalized. The state had alleged negligence and mismanagement led to the disaster, which caused significant economic and environmental damage. The settlement does not cover claims against HD Hyundai, the ship's builder.
