Youth Futures Program in Israel Provides Comprehensive Support for At-Risk Children
The Youth Futures program in Israel is addressing the needs of at-risk children by providing comprehensive support through a network of specially trained personnel known as Mentors. Operating in approximately 60 local authorities across the country, the program aims to intervene early in a child's life to prevent further deterioration. Mentors work with children for three consecutive years, building personalized support networks that include parents, teachers, social workers, and other significant adults. This approach is designed to address not only academic or emotional challenges but to understand the child's entire world, ensuring a coordinated support system. The program is particularly focused on children who may not outwardly show signs of distress but are struggling with issues such as social exclusion, bullying, or family crises.
