Severe storms swept through Chesterfield County, Virginia, on Monday, August 10, 2026, causing significant damage and disruptions. Trees fell into four homes, displacing residents, though no injuries were reported. Power outages affected over 14,000 customers, and multiple roadways, including Winterpock Road and Spring Run Road, were closed due to downed trees and power lines. Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to 32 storm-related calls between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., including a house fire caused by a lightning strike. Crews from VDOT and Dominion Energy worked to clear debris and restore power to the affected areas. The hardest-hit locations were Winterpock and Matoaca, where residents described the storm as intense and sudden.
