Walmart Removes Taylor Farms Salads Amid Expanding Cyclospora Outbreak Investigation
Walmart has removed four bagged iceberg lettuce salad products manufactured by Taylor Farms as part of a precautionary measure amid an expanding cyclosporiasis outbreak investigation. The products, sold under the Marketside brand, were distributed in select Walmart stores across 15 states. Although no confirmed illnesses have been linked to these products, the removal follows a notice from a supplier and is part of broader efforts to address the outbreak. The outbreak, linked to lettuce served at Taco Bell restaurants, has affected over 5,000 people in Michigan alone, with cases reported in 34 states. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are working with Mexican authorities to trace the outbreak's source, as the lettuce was sourced from a farm in Mexico.
