Maui Power Pathways Program Graduates Second Cohort, Expands Workforce Training
The Maui Power Pathways Training Program, a collaboration between UH Maui College and Hawaiian Electric, has graduated its second cohort of local residents. This free, 10-week workforce training program prepares participants for potential careers in the island's electric utility sector. This year, the program expanded to include residents from Maui, Moloka'i, and Lāna'i, offering hands-on training in areas such as electrical systems and power plant operations. The program aims to build a sustainable local workforce pipeline, with participants gaining real-world experience and potential job opportunities at Hawaiian Electric's facilities.
