HSHS Medical Group Welcomes Dr. Michelle Zhang, General Surgeon Specializing in Minimally Invasive Techniques, to Springfield
HSHS Medical Group has announced the addition of Dr. Michelle Zhang, a general surgeon, to its General Surgery-Springfield practice, located at 301 N. Eighth St., Fifth Floor, in the HSHS St. John's Hospital Pavilion. Dr. Zhang specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques, offering advanced care for conditions such as hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, appendix surgery, and breast surgery, including both benign breast conditions and breast cancer. Her expertise in robotic approaches is expected to facilitate faster patient recovery and improved outcomes. Dr. Zhang earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in biology from Washington University in St. Louis. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she also conducted extensive research in surgical oncology.
