OpenAI Introduces New Tools to Identify AI-Generated Images, Enhancing Verification Measures
OpenAI has announced new measures to address the growing challenge of verifying AI-generated images. The company has joined the C2PA, an open standard that adds metadata labels to indicate AI creation. Additionally, OpenAI is collaborating with Google to implement SynthID, an invisible watermark that is difficult to remove, even with digital manipulation. These measures currently apply only to images created via OpenAI products. OpenAI is also launching a public verification tool to help users identify AI-generated images. Initially, this tool will be limited to OpenAI products, with plans to expand to other platforms in the future.
