Drake University Recognized as Key Partner in Panama's National AI Strategy
Drake University, a private institution based in Des Moines, has been formally acknowledged by Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino for its crucial role in developing Panama's national artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. This recognition highlights Drake's commitment to fostering talent for Panama's burgeoning technology and AI economy. The university has established the only data analytics degree program in Central America and introduced a new minor in artificial intelligence, both slated to launch next fall at Ciudad del Saber, a prominent education and entrepreneurship hub in Panama City. These programs offer two pathways for Panamanian students: an accelerated three-year-plus-one-summer program completed entirely in Panama, and a 2+2 model where students finish their final two years at Drake's campus in Iowa.
