Public Transit to LAX: Cost-Effective but Time-Consuming
A recent experiment tested the efficiency of public transportation to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) compared to rideshare services. The test involved two routes: one from Fullerton and another from Riverside, both utilizing Metrolink trains and buses. The Fullerton route took over three hours and cost $21.25, while the Riverside route took nearly three hours and cost $13.50. In contrast, a rideshare service would have been significantly faster, taking just over an hour, but at a much higher cost of $101. The public transit option, while cheaper, involved delays and logistical challenges, such as the need to transfer between different modes of transport and the lack of convenient facilities like restrooms at certain stations.
