Flooding in Chattanooga Highlights Delayed Drainage Work and Infrastructure Concerns

The employee, Allen Nichols, was swept towards a culvert by the floodwaters but was rescued by his boss. The incident has raised questions about the area's drainage system, with local officials pointing to a developer's activities and a lack of vegetation as contributing factors. The Hamilton County Highway Department has plans for infrastructure improvements, but these have been delayed due to permitting issues.
