Fire Destroys Floating Restaurant 'The Dive' on Lake Winnipesaukee, Investigation Underway
A fire broke out on 'The Dive', a floating bar and restaurant on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, on Saturday afternoon. The fire was reported around 3:40 p.m. while the boat was anchored at Smalls Cove sandbar in Alton and open for business. Firefighters from multiple towns, including Alton, Gilford, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro, responded to the scene, with assistance from the New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol. No civilian injuries were reported, but one firefighter sustained a minor injury. The state fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire, which is believed to have started in the kitchen area. The fire is not considered suspicious, and the vessel's owner is cooperating with the investigation.
