Vice President Vance Addresses Air Force Academy Graduates on Future Warfare Challenges
Vice President JD Vance delivered a commencement address to the graduating class of the U.S. Air Force Academy, emphasizing the rapid evolution of warfare due to advancements in artificial intelligence and technology. Speaking to over 900 new officers, Vance highlighted the unprecedented pace of technological change and its implications for military operations. The class of 2026, noted for its high academic and physical fitness achievements, includes cadets from 13 countries and members who will join the U.S. Space Force. Vance underscored the importance of maintaining human oversight in military decisions, despite the increasing role of AI in warfare. He also referenced the ongoing conflict with Iran, describing it as a significant example of AI-driven warfare.
