Polish Interior Minister Suggests Sabotage Caused Drone Factory Fire, Terrorism Investigation Launched
A fire at a Polish drone factory in Skarżysko-Kamienna, belonging to WB Electronics, is likely the result of sabotage, according to Poland's Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński. The incident occurred early on Monday, destroying warehouse facilities and causing an estimated 15 million zlotys ($4 million) in damages. Polish prosecutors have initiated a terrorism investigation into the fire, with the Internal Security Agency (ABW) probing potential involvement of foreign intelligence. Surveillance footage reportedly shows an unidentified individual in a balaclava entering the premises before the fire erupted. WB Electronics is a significant defense firm, supplying reconnaissance and loitering drones, such as the FlyEye and Warmate, to both the Polish and Ukrainian militaries. This event is being viewed in the context of a broader pattern of sabotage incidents targeting European infrastructure, which some European countries attribute to Russia, a claim Moscow denies.
