Ayanna Pressley Secures $500,000 Federal Investment for Mattapan Senior Housing
U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley has successfully secured $500,000 in federal funding for the construction of the Brooke House Village Center in Mattapan, Massachusetts. This funding, part of the Fiscal Year 2024 federal spending package signed by President Joe Biden, will support the development of a multi-generational community space within the Brooke House senior housing project. The center will offer various services, including fitness classes, lifelong learning opportunities, and arts and cultural programming, aimed at supporting healthy aging and intergenerational connections. The project is expected to provide 127 affordable apartments for older adults, with construction anticipated to begin in late summer and completion by early 2028.
