Pennsylvania Department of Labor Industry Invests $2.8 Million in Lehigh Valley Workforce Development
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry has announced a significant investment of $2.8 million in Industry Partnership grants aimed at strengthening the workforce in the Lehigh Valley region. This initiative, part of the Shapiro Administration's efforts, targets ten organizations to enhance Pennsylvania's workforce and economy. The Industry Partnership program is designed to connect regional business leaders with public partners to address workforce challenges and improve industry competitiveness. Key projects include the 'Healthcare is Hot!' strategy by the Workforce Board Lehigh Valley, which focuses on developing career pathways and promoting healthcare careers. Additionally, the Chester County Workforce Development Board is working on initiatives like the Smart Energy Initiative and Health Care Connect to support energy and healthcare sectors, respectively.
