Brothers Plead Guilty to Bribing Former NYC Buildings Official Eric Ulrich for Favors

Joseph and Anthony Livreri, co-owners of Aldo’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Ozone Park, have pleaded guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court to conspiracy and bribery charges. They admitted to paying $4,000 to Eric Ulrich, former senior advisor to Mayor Eric Adams and chief of the Department of Buildings (DOB), in 2022. The bribes were intended to secure various favors, including preventing the DOB from vacating their Fortunato Brothers Bakery in Williamsburg after a fire, fast-tracking health inspections at their pizza shop following multiple health violations, and cutting through licensing hurdles for their codefendant, Michael Mazzio, to allow him to tow on city highways during snowstorms. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated that the defendants sought jobs for themselves and family members and expedited inspections at businesses with health and building code violations in exchange for the bribes. Bank of America Expands Support for Veterans and 9/11 Memorials Ahead of 25th Anniversary

Bank of America is significantly increasing its financial commitment to military service members, first responders, and organizations dedicated to 9/11 memorials as the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. A key part of this initiative is a new $250,000 commitment to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 'Veteran Villages' project. This project aims to provide permanent housing and comprehensive support services to homeless and vulnerable veterans across 14 U.S. markets, including Las Vegas, Detroit, Buffalo, Charlotte, Long Island, and New Jersey. Bank of America employees will also assemble 3,000 'Welcome Home' care kits for veterans entering these facilities. This expanded institutional sponsorship builds upon more than $160 million in cumulative support Bank of America has provided to military service members and emergency responders over the past 15 years.
