UNIDROIT Celebrates Centenary in Seoul, Focuses on Asia-Pacific Legal Cooperation
A delegation from UNIDROIT, led by Secretary-General Ignacio Tirado and Deputy Secretary-General Anna Veneziano, visited Seoul to mark the organization's centenary and enhance legal cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. The mission included bilateral meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with officials such as Wook-Jin Chang, Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs, and at the Ministry of Justice with Deputy Minister Junha Kang. Discussions centered on the implementation of the Cape Town Convention and the establishment of a UNIDROIT Liaison Office for the Asia Pacific Region. UNIDROIT also co-organized a breakfast event at the 20th Conference of Chief Justices of Asia and the Pacific (CJAP) titled 'TECHNOLOGY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AT THE TURN OF UNIDROIT’S CENTURY,' attended by over 40 participants from various countries.
