Taylor Farms Under Scrutiny for Failure to File Workplace Injury Logs Amid Cyclospora Outbreak
Taylor Farms, a prominent North American salad producer, has frequently failed to submit federally required workplace injury logs, according to a Reuters review of federal records. This includes facilities where workers sustained fatal or serious injuries. Over the past five years, only 5 to 7 of at least 17 Taylor Farms facilities filed annual injury reports, a rate significantly below the industry average of 78%. The company acknowledged these reporting gaps, stating they have been addressed and that employee safety is a core operational priority. This comes as Taylor Farms is also under investigation for a cyclospora outbreak linked to its lettuce supply, which has sickened thousands and resulted in two deaths.
