Mother and Two Daughters Die in Head-On Collision on Highway 99 Near Bakersfield
A tragic head-on collision on Highway 99 in Kern County, California, resulted in the deaths of a mother and her two daughters. The incident occurred just before 12:45 a.m. on a Sunday morning, north of 7th Standard Road near Bakersfield. According to the California Highway Patrol, three vehicles were involved in the crash. One vehicle was reportedly traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when it collided with two other vehicles. The victims, identified as Vanessa and her daughters Kloie and Kylie, were in a Honda Accord that subsequently became engulfed in flames, leading to their deaths at the scene. They were returning home from a concert in Fresno, which they had attended to celebrate Kloie's upcoming 17th birthday. A 44-year-old man and his passenger in a BMW 530I sustained severe injuries and were hospitalized, while two individuals in a Chevy Colorado suffered only minor injuries.
