NeuConnect Achieves Transformer Milestone in UK-Germany Power Link Project
NeuConnect has successfully completed the delivery of all 14 transformers for its 1.4 GW interconnector project between the UK and Germany. These transformers, supplied by Siemens Energy, are crucial for voltage conversion at the project's converter stations located on the Isle of Grain in Kent and Wilhelmshaven in northern Germany. The project, valued at £2.4 billion, involves the installation of 725 km of subsea cables to facilitate electricity flow between the two countries. The completion of this milestone marks significant progress in the project, with construction of the main converter station buildings reaching full height and over 300 km of subsea cable already laid.
