Netherlands and Lithuania Approved for U.S. Missile Purchases to Enhance Defense
The U.S. government has approved arms sales to the Netherlands and Lithuania, allowing them to purchase advanced missile systems to bolster their defense capabilities. The Netherlands is set to acquire Lockheed Martin AGM-114R2 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles, valued at $200 million, to enhance its military's operational capabilities. Lithuania will purchase Raytheon AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder missiles, valued at $214 million, to be used in its National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS). These sales are part of the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program, aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of allied nations.
