Severe Flooding Threatens 50M From Midwest-South
A growing flash flood threat is impacting nearly 50 million people across 20 states from the Upper Midwest to the South after severe weekend storms triggered flooding emergencies and water rescues. Parts of Alabama and Texas have already received several inches of rain, overwhelming roads and neighborhoods. More rounds of thunderstorms are expected through Tuesday, fueled by tropical moisture and saturated ground. Forecasters warn that repeated downpours could trigger dangerous flash flooding, especially across portions of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and the Mississippi Valley.
