Corcept Therapeutics Presents Data on Cortisol Modulation for Type 2 Diabetes at ADA
Corcept Therapeutics Incorporated has presented new data from its CATALYST and MOMENTUM trials at the American Diabetes Association's 86th Scientific Sessions. The data highlights the role of hypercortisolism in difficult-to-control type 2 diabetes and resistant hypertension, and the potential benefits of cortisol modulation treatment. The CATALYST trial screened over 1,000 patients with difficult-to-control type 2 diabetes, finding that 24% had hypercortisolism. Patients treated with Korlym showed significant improvements in metabolic parameters, including reductions in hemoglobin A1c, body weight, and waist circumference. The MOMENTUM trial also found a high prevalence of hypercortisolism in patients with resistant hypertension.
