Kenya Launches WAF Country Council to Enhance Agricultural Innovation and Resilience
Kenya has officially launched the World Agriculture Forum (WAF) Country Council, a strategic initiative aimed at transforming the nation's agriculture sector. The launch event, held at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) Auditorium in Nairobi, brought together government officials, global agriculture leaders, and industry stakeholders. The council is set to focus on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and bioengineering to boost agricultural productivity, strengthen climate resilience, and connect global innovations with local farming practices. This initiative aligns with Kenya's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and the AI Strategy 2025-2030, aiming to deliver measurable outcomes such as increased yields and improved farmer incomes.
