Fun Spot America Atlanta Closes Amid Financial Struggles, ArieForce One Coaster's Future Uncertain
Fun Spot America Atlanta, a family-owned theme park located in Fayetteville, Georgia, is closing its doors on August 2, 2026. The park, which has been operational since 1990 under various names and ownerships, is shutting down due to financial difficulties. Despite the introduction of the ArieForce One roller coaster, which opened in March 2023 and received critical acclaim, the park failed to attract enough visitors to sustain operations. The coaster, known for its unique zero-g stall feature, was a significant investment for the park, costing an additional $6 million due to unforeseen construction challenges. The park's owner, John Arie Jr., expressed gratitude to the employees and guests who supported the park over the years. The closure decision was described as the hardest he has ever made, citing location and insufficient tourist traffic as contributing factors.
