Evanston Pastor Removed from Financial Duties Amid Parish Fund Concerns
Rev. Kenneth J. Anderson, pastor of St. John Henry Newman Parish in Evanston, has been relieved of his financial administrative duties following concerns about the parish's financial management. Cardinal Blase J. Cupich of the Archdiocese of Chicago announced the decision in a letter to parish members, citing serious questions about the administration of parish finances. Anderson is cooperating with the review and will continue his pastoral duties. The parish, formed from a merger of two local parishes, has faced financial challenges, including a budget deficit and staff resignations. The review aims to address potential deficiencies in financial controls.
