Valero Texas Open Delayed Due to Dangerous Weather Conditions
The Valero Texas Open, part of the PGA Tour, experienced a delay on Thursday morning due to dangerous weather conditions at TPC San Antonio. According to the PGA Tour's communications department, a weak front was expected to pass through the area, bringing a brief period of showers and potential lightning strikes between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. CT. The weather warning proved accurate as the first round of the tournament, initially scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. CT, was postponed. The inclement weather persisted, preventing the tournament from resuming at the initially planned time of 9:15 a.m. ET. A new start time has not yet been announced, but the weather is expected to improve later in the morning, with very low chances of rain in the afternoon.
