Passenger's Unusual Request to Judge After Alleged TSA Altercation at Atlanta Airport
Oreoluwa Oloruntoba, a 30-year-old passenger, appeared in court after being accused of attempting to breach a TSA checkpoint and engaging in a physical altercation with a police officer at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The incident occurred as Oloruntoba allegedly tried to board a flight to New York without undergoing the necessary security procedures. During his court appearance, he asked Judge Latrevia Kates-Johnson if he could still make his flight, despite facing charges of simple battery, obstructing an officer, and interfering with security measures. The judge informed him that he could reschedule his flight only if he went through the proper security channels, although he remains in custody with a $9,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 9.
