Vietnam Requires Tens of Thousands of Workers for Nuclear Energy Development by 2035
Vietnam is projected to need tens of thousands of direct and indirect workers to achieve its atomic energy and nuclear power development goals by 2035. This significant human resource requirement was highlighted by Tran Chi Thanh, Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute, during a press briefing by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The demand spans various fields, including state management, nuclear safety and security regulation, research and development, technical support, training, nuclear medicine, radiation technology, radioactive waste management, incident response, and environmental monitoring, as well as applications in healthcare, agriculture, industry, and the environment. Currently, human resources in Vietnam's atomic energy sector are limited, with a particularly acute shortage for nuclear power development.
