Severe Weather and Flash Flooding Threaten Midwest Through Midweek
The Midwest is bracing for a multi-day severe weather event, with over 40 million people at risk. According to the New York Post, a Level 3 out of 5 severe weather risk has been issued for parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota. These storms are expected to bring large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. By midweek, the threat will shift eastward, impacting Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, with Minneapolis identified as a potential hotspot for significant severe weather. Additionally, widespread rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, with localized amounts exceeding 3 inches, could lead to flash flooding in parts of the region.
