Privacy Concerns Rise with Increasing Use of Smart Glasses
The proliferation of smart glasses, particularly those produced by Meta, has raised significant privacy concerns. These devices, which can discreetly record video and audio, are being used by some individuals to film people without their consent. The issue is exacerbated by the potential addition of facial recognition features, which could further infringe on personal privacy. Despite their benefits, such as aiding visually impaired individuals, the misuse of smart glasses for surveillance and harassment is a growing problem. Public awareness of these devices remains low, complicating efforts to address privacy violations.
