Progressive Leaders Convene in Barcelona to Defend Liberal Order
In Barcelona, progressive and traditional democratic leaders gathered to discuss strategies for restoring faith in the liberal order, which they perceive as being threatened by a global shift towards far-right extremism and conflict. The event, hosted by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, included leaders such as Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Colombian President Gustavo Petro. The summit focused on reinforcing the multilateral order, reforming the United Nations, regulating social media to curb hate speech, and addressing economic inequality.
