Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost Resigns for Private Sector Role
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced his resignation to take a position with the nonprofit law firm Alliance Defending Freedom. Yost, who has served as attorney general since 2019, will assume the role of vice president of Strategic Research and Innovation at the firm. His resignation is effective June 7, ahead of the November election. The move was unexpected, with Yost's spokesperson neither confirming nor denying the reports initially. Governor Mike DeWine, who has the authority to appoint a new attorney general, expressed gratitude for Yost's public service and stated that he would consider the appointment carefully.
