Yuma County Appoints Jeremy Jeffcoat as New CIO to Lead IT Modernization
Yuma County, Arizona, has appointed Jeremy Jeffcoat as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). Jeffcoat, who began his role on March 30, brings extensive experience in public-sector technology, having previously served as the assistant IT director for the city of Yuma's Regional Communications System. His responsibilities include overseeing the county's enterprise technology operations, managing the Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) with its 35 team members, and advancing IT initiatives such as the second phase of an Oracle Cloud optimization project. Jeffcoat's appointment follows a competitive selection process, with over 99 applicants vying for the position. His background includes a bachelor's degree in information technology, a master's degree in cybersecurity, and a Certified Public Manager credential. County Administrator Ian McGaughey expressed confidence in Jeffcoat's ability to lead the county's information systems efforts.
