Lepanto Mining Secures 25-Year Contract with Indigenous Support
Lepanto Consolidated Mining Co. (LCMCo) has secured a 25-year contract to continue its mineral extraction operations through its Far Southeast Gold Resources Inc. (FSGRI) project in Mankayan, Benguet. This follows the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Indigenous peoples of the Mankayan Ancestral Domain, granting the company free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) for the renewal of Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) 001. The agreement, which expired in March 2025, covers an area of 948.47 hectares and includes gold, silver, and copper extraction. The MOA includes provisions for a monthly royalty payment and a one-time payment for community projects.
