Denver and Surrounding Areas Brace for Major May Snowstorm
A significant snowstorm is forecast to impact Denver and surrounding regions in Colorado and Wyoming from Tuesday night into Wednesday. This unusual May snow event follows a period of warm weather, with temperatures previously reaching into the 70s. The National Weather Service has issued winter storm alerts, warning of heavy, wet snow that could accumulate up to 30 inches in higher elevations, such as Rocky Mountain National Park. This storm is particularly notable given the area's ongoing extreme drought and historically low snowpack levels. The snow is expected to be followed by a return to warmer temperatures by the end of the week.
