National League of Cities Launches AI Forum to Enhance Local Government Capabilities
The National League of Cities (NLC) has initiated an AI and Emerging Technology Forum aimed at aiding local governments in understanding and implementing artificial intelligence technologies. This forum is designed to bring together mayors, chief information officers, and local government technology practitioners to explore how AI can enhance service delivery, governance, and internal capacity. The first meeting of this forum was held virtually in March, with plans for an in-person gathering at the 2026 NLC City Summit in November. The forum includes members such as Seattle's Chief Privacy Officer Ginger Armbruster and Houston Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex-Tatum. Tyler Technologies is sponsoring the forum, which aims to provide practical resources, tools, and guidance for real-world AI applications.
