MTA to Address Subway Bottlenecks in Brooklyn to Improve Service
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) plans to address major bottlenecks in Brooklyn's subway system to reduce delays and improve service. The agency will build new crossover tracks at Nostrand Junction and upgrade track switches and signaling at the DeKalb Interlocking. These improvements aim to reduce travel time and increase train frequency, benefiting 1.2 million daily trips. The MTA's efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance the efficiency of New York City's aging subway network, which serves about four million weekday riders.
