UAE and ADB Launch AI-Driven Agriculture Program to Boost Food Security in Asia-Pacific
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have initiated a $1.5 million technical cooperation partnership aimed at enhancing agricultural innovations across eight countries in Asia and the Pacific. This initiative, supported by Japan's Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, focuses on integrating digital and AI-powered tools to improve agricultural productivity. The program targets Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, the Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Thailand, and the Maldives, aiming to implement evidence-based solutions such as AI-powered weather forecasting and digital advisory services. The partnership is part of the Agricultural Innovation Mechanism for Scale (AIM for Scale), which collaborates with governments and development banks to improve the livelihoods of millions of farmers.
