New York Produce Company Recalls Mangoes from Walmart Stores Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination
Panorama Produce, a New York-based company, has issued a recall for 302 boxes of Martina-brand mangoes sold at select Walmart stores in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. The recall was initiated due to potential salmonella contamination. The affected mangoes were distributed between August 10 and August 21. While no illnesses have been reported in connection with this specific recall, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that sampling found salmonella in mangoes from the same farm. Although the mangoes that tested positive did not enter U.S. commerce, the recalled fruit originated from the same source. Consumers can identify the recalled mangoes by their Martina-branded boxes and individual fruit stickers with "Produce of Mexico," PLU 4584, and UPC 07503061948050.
