Federal Agencies Launch Youth Sports and Wellbeing Initiative in Indianapolis
Four federal agencies have launched a new initiative in Indianapolis aimed at connecting youth sports with academic success, health, and job opportunities, particularly for those living in public housing. The U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD), along with the departments of education, labor, and health and human services, are collaborating to implement sports programs that promote life skills, financial literacy, and career preparation. The initiative was announced at the Indianapolis Colts practice facility, where HUD Secretary Scott Turner signed a memorandum of understanding with other agency officials. The program aims to engage as many young people as possible, with a focus on football and other sports, to foster teamwork, discipline, and time management skills.
