New Zealand Expands Global Food and Nutrition Reach Beyond Dairy
New Zealand is actively working to expand its global reputation in the food and nutrition sector beyond its well-known dairy exports. Over 90% of New Zealand's dairy production is exported, recognized for its premium quality due to a grass-fed system and strict production standards. However, the nation is now focusing on diversifying its offerings to include other food and nutrition products. According to Erika Sirimanne, Head of Business Development at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, the country aims to shift from a product-focused mindset to evidence-based nutrition, targeting areas such as horticulture, fruits, and supplements. The strategy involves focusing on prevention, personalization, and partnerships to achieve growth, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
