Philadelphia Parking Authority to Enforce Speeding Fines in School Zones Starting Monday
The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) is set to begin issuing fines to drivers caught speeding in designated school zones across the city starting Monday. This marks the end of a warning period for the PPA's school-zone speed camera enforcement program. Drivers exceeding speed limits in these areas will face fines starting at $100. The initiative aims to enhance safety for students and pedestrians in school zones by deterring speeding through automated enforcement. The program has been in a trial phase, during which warnings were issued instead of fines, allowing drivers to adjust to the new enforcement measures.
