Storm Dave Causes Damage at Durham's Riverside Ground
Storm Dave has impacted Durham's Riverside ground at Chester-le-Street, causing significant damage. The storm led to the collapse of a scaffolding platform holding a sightscreen, which damaged fencing and seating. As a result, the start of the third day's play in the County Championship Division Two match between Durham and Kent has been delayed. The storm has also disrupted road and rail travel across northern areas, prompting numerous flood warnings. Although yellow wind warnings for Scotland, north-west Wales, and parts of northern England were lifted on Sunday morning, the aftermath of the storm continues to affect the region. Workers have been clearing debris, including a wheeled cover blown into the stands, and spectators were initially advised to stay away from the venue.
