Jackson was the hospital's second-largest creditor when it filed for bankruptcy last year, owing nearly $10 million in unpaid bills. The hospital's financial stability was further secured through a legal agreement regarding reimbursement rates with insurance giant Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
