ASEAN-EU Sustainability Summit Highlights Private Sector's Role in Green Transition
The inaugural ASEAN-EU Sustainability Summit took place in Cebu, Philippines, focusing on private-sector-led solutions for Southeast Asia's green transition. The event, held a day before the ASEAN Leaders’ Summit, was organized by the EU-ASEAN Business Council and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, with full funding from major corporate partners. The summit emphasized actionable strategies across four pillars: energy transition, green finance, circular economy development, and climate-resilient agriculture. Key discussions included scaling extended producer responsibility in ASEAN and strengthening supply chain integrity. The summit highlighted the private sector's role as a primary architect of the region's resilience, with significant participation from government, industry, and civil society leaders.
