Pedestrian Dies in Late-Night Phoenix Vehicular Collision
A pedestrian, identified as 44-year-old Sharmarke Ismail, died late Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in Phoenix. The incident occurred near 48th Street and Van Buren Street, where Ismail was reportedly crossing midblock. Phoenix Police Department officers responded to the collision at 11:53 p.m., finding Ismail with critical injuries in the roadway. Fire personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
